A dynasty so beautiful, so glorious to behold
To gaze upon the lands you’d never see the blight
The war raging far beyond the city walls
The whispers in shadows of doubt and worry
Hushed to silence in secrecy
The threat deemed unworthy to challenge the throne

Dark deception weaving plots
So sinister their takings
Razor blade strung tapestries
Violent in their makings
Blade slips in with poison
Like a demon in the dark
Gloved hand muffles choking breath
And drags the corpse to cover

The fast approaching forces of the enemies of the crown
All controlled by an unknown faction, a dark hand unseen
The king calls together his council, and as he approaches the chamber
He is stabbed through the back by the closest of his guards

Searing pain and stark confusion
Mix within the King
He reaches down in horror
Pulls back blood on hands and rings
To ambitious were his generals
To spoiled were his hosts
That he should be less valuable living than a ghost
