Civilization has come and gone before
The rise of empires and the fall back to ruin
The mechanics of their fall hidden until now
Insidiously waiting deep within the ice

And with the rise of modern man
The ice begins to melt and fall away
Infecting the oceans with the spores
Humans face extinction once again

The doom bringer locked in its stasis
Brought back upon the surface
Billions die in so little time
Never a hope for this apex disease

And as the masses panic as their loved ones die
They themselves are badly infected
They burn the cities, they lynch their leaders
But they die in mass graves nonetheless

A twenty-thousand-year cycle
Man is toppled from his tower made of pride
For deep beneath the ice caps
