Empty hollow shells remain standing
Silent in their untold secrets
Ancient societies crushed in their prime
And we still don’t know why

Cataclysmic destruction
Raging fire for days without end
And the power to still oceans
In the hands of children who think themselves gods

The evidence of higher ancient knowledge
Carved upon the world so long ago

So people pray to their empire
And they beg for their safety
But the illusion is a fleeting one
Beautiful ways of life have all burned to ash
Walls crumble, books decay and people die
Concepts of thought distort from through inferior minds
If we are to learn anything from the past
