An ancient legend rarely believed anymore
Told of fell beings living in darkness and ice
Stirring only when awakened, but if they wake
The ancient gods will kill again, and stain the ground red
Hateful and powerful sleeping in the cold
The frost giants of old, of epics long ago

Don’t go searching for the titans under the earth
Guarded by cyclops and so much worse

Come seeking power and you will find death
If the watchers don’t get you, the wind and cold will
There is no treasure there, but some have to look
They return empty handed, but they are not alone

Dark forces infect them, leach into their flesh
The curse manifests in different ways, ending in death
An accident in the street, a mysterious illness
But all who go looking wind up cold and still

There are things that walked the earth long before man
A different time, a different order
Long buried grudges, left over from primeval wars
Still sustained in inhuman minds in the wilds
Don’t go asking questions aimlessly in the dark
The answers you find will not be ones you like

And our ancestors watched in awe the gods move
Watched their wars, and trembled with fear

Battles louder than storms, as the goliaths clashed in rage
Titanic behemoths, with powers beyond understanding
A harrowing display of destruction
With power to split the mountains

And they’re still up there sleeping, unaware
And the day they will return is drawing near
For in their lifespans, they’ve been asleep for the blink of an eye
We are told they don’t exist, but everyone shall see
