Holding onto the light, you’ve lost your way
Delving deep into the darkness so boldly
The walls and tunnels all look the same
The way back out unclear, finding yourself lost

So you push forward despite the pounding in your ears
Terror intensifies as the tunnels start to narrow
The air grows stale and thick as you push forward
Into the mouth of the underworld

What starts as bravery ends deep inside the earth
Headlong into blackness and you shall pay the price
There are ancient places deep underground
The depths where man was not meant to go

And as the passage finally comes to a bottleneck
Crawling on hands and knees you still press on
The light you carried wavers and goes out
And something deeper down within begins to howl

You try to escape, but you’re caught between the rocks
The scurrying noises echo from up ahead
You can feel the blood pump as you know you’re going to die
No one will find you, the cave becomes your tomb
